Our democracy depends on active participation by everyone at election time. More voters means more power, so the more union members who register, the more power we have when we defend important workplace protections, push for new legislation, and ask politicians to support us.
In order to exercise your right to vote, you must first register. Just print out the
PDF Voter Registration Form, fill in the blanks and mail it to your local voter registration office.
To be eligible to register in Texas, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be a resident of the county
- Be 18 years old (you may register at 17 years and 10 months)
- Not be a convicted felon (unless a individual’s sentence is completed, including any probation or parole)
- Not have been declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law
